Sometimes mistakes are made, though, and an occupied room is mistakenly believed to be unoccupied.
I don't really know. You mean on top of the price? Are you a travel agent? Perhaps ask a travel agent what they charge. Maybe, just a percentage of the price of the trip. Perhaps five or ten percent. Seems like if you are doing this you would know already but I guess it must be your first time. Fifty dollars to a hundred dollars every time?

It depends on who you made you reservations with. If they charged you for the rental already I would call who ever you made the outside reservation with. Most of the time they book you a reservation and then you present a credit card when you arrive to pick up the car. If they in fact just made you a reservation, then all you have to do is not show up to pick up the car. I would check with the car rental company and check on their cancellation policies, but as long as the car rental company does not have your Credit Card number, they can't do anything to you. All you would be is a no-show and most companies average a 15% no show rate.

I have never had this problem using a debt card. The thing you must remmber is that often times they put a freeze on a certain amount of money. So if you have $500 in the bank and you're staying for a night, assume that $250.00 will not be available to you.
